Ashbrook Chase “Ash” – 15hh 5-Year-Old Purebred Connemara Gelding

Ash is a striking 15hh, 5-year-old dappled rose grey purebred Connemara gelding with all Class 1 breeding.

He has a wonderfully quiet nature, an excellent work ethic and has been produced slowly and correctly since being purchased directly from his breeder as a 3-year-old.

Ash is currently competing in 80cm classes and thoroughly enjoys his job. He is brave and careful over a fence without ever becoming hot, sharp or strong. Cross-country schooling, he remains adjustable to every fence and is confident with water and drains.

He has also begun training for working hunter competitions and has taken to it extremely well. Liverpools, flags and natural fences do not faze him.

Ash is always ridden in a loose-ring snaffle and requires no preparation before competitions. He does not become fresh or silly away from home and schools easily into a contact.

He could be an ideal horse for someone learning to jump and compete. He stays underneath the rider’s leg without needing help around a course, and is neither overly forward nor lazy — simply steady, balanced and adjustable.

Ash is equally straightforward outside the arena. He hacks quietly in groups or confidently alone, is happy to lead or follow and gets along well with other horses. He is sensible around machinery, traffic and cattle.

On the ground, Ash is exceptionally easy. He loads, plaits, catches, ties, grooms and shoes without fuss, loves going to new places and is consistently mellow and well behaved.
